Description
On a still desert night outside of Appleloosa, one can get lost in the skies that shine above the lonely western civilization. Our friend Braeburn here can't help but gaze up at the wonders.
There's a lot that was driving me to draw this: Songs, movies, life choices, life loves, just some personal touches. At least Braeburn has a friend tonight in the sky. Maybe this photo can mean something special to you too. It was really sentimental tonight, so that's why I drew this. (I drew and colored everything in this photograph.)
You remember Braeburn right? That cute cousin of Applejack's for the My Little Pony Episode "Over A Barrel"? That's the stallion here, REMEMBER THAT! ... And I honestly think I did him more justice here in this photo than in my last one of him! I love ponies! They make me feel happy when I feel lonely! I hope this photo means something to you too! It was a lot of fun to draw and color! Well worth the 6 hours of work!

Dammit, this is underrated.
Nevermind the effort you put into this and how much it shows, but this is easily your best work yet. I know the premise of the picture is underwhelming, and I get that you've done much more dramatic or avant-garde pics throughout your gallery, but none hold a candle to this. You made the premise something else. The detail is fucking tangible and the proportion is spot-on. From the star-speckled night sky to the campfire, it's all there. But Braeburn himself looks absolutely magnificent. You shaped his hat and mane near perfectly, and the textures for both just make me wanna reach out and rub 'em.
The textures are their own topic entirely. I especially love the stitches on the vest. And the shadow placement was perfect. Everything about the textures is just spectacular. Your best work with them by far. Especially with the sky and campfire.
I usually oppose critiques like this, but, as said, this is your best work yet. There may be some conventional issue in here somewhere, but I'm blinded to it. In the words of that British bloke I worship, "Absolutely sublime from top to bottom, and I will jab forks into my eyes if I ever have to use those words to describe anything ever again."
